Video: Introducing the Bay's GetLive Sessions

The Bay Area has always been blessed with talent, ingenuity, community spirit and know how. And the most recent manifestation of this community-minded creativity is the GetLive Sessions, the brain child of the Bay Area's Get Back Crew. Lead by figure heads Rafael Casal, Daveed Diggs and Chinaka Hodge, the GetBack has crafted a mutually benificial vehicle for local artists and their stable of musicians, editors and videographers.

In short, dope local emcees and singers partner with the GetBack crew to bring you the Bay Area equivalent of MTV Unplugged–a live rendition of your favorite local songs in an intimate studio setting. This platform was created to promote not only the headline artists, but also the band and behind the scenes folks who execute the vision. The GetLive Sessions don't end there though. They also incorporate local blogs and brands that help flesh out and articulate the local arts scene, making the undertaking a true community effort.

We here at 38thnotes are proud to say that we contributed to the visioning, planning and curating of the vehicle that will bring you live features from Netta Brielle, Nio Tha Gift, DaVinci, Rafael Casal, Daveed Diggs and Do DAT in this first season. This means that every Monday on 38thnotes, thizzler.com and the other GetLive affiliate sites, you can watch the latest chapter of the GetLive Sesssions. We'll see you next Monday with the debut webisode featuring Ms. Netta Brielle.
