Bay Area super group The Cataracs is back with a mixtape hosted by DJ Greg Street called I Thought They Were Black!? This tape consists of a few new joints, but it's mostly meant to package a bunch of dope songs the Berkeley duo has leaked over the past 6 months or so. 38thNotes favorites include "This Is All I Do," "Little Wayne," "Ice Cream Paint Job," and one of the hottest songs out right now, "Like A G6." Although this mixtape doesn't give us a lot of new music, it combines a bunch of solid tracks that show of the group's versatile ability.
DL: DJ Greg Street Presents... I Thought They Were Black?!They also released a homemade video for their song "Bass Down Low," which is not on the mixtape. It's just some high times caught on camera, but it's good to see these rising stars having a little fun, dancing around and smoking weed with Dev and Stunnaman from The Pack.
And for all those fans who want to see The Cataracs in concert, check them out in an all ages show on Marth 13th at The New Parish, the hottest new club in uptown Oakland. The show will also feature Dev and Bobby Brackins.
