I never thought I'd see the day where we would be posting a Gucci Mane song but, obviously the day has come. Gucci teams up with the Bay Area legend JT The Bigga Figga for the song "Take It Back". This is clearly a real good look for JT given that Gucci is one of the hottest rappers out right now, and everyone and they mama is trying to get a Gucci feature on their song.
JT will rarely come to mind when you think of dope Bay rappers, but if you do your research, you'll find that he has always been a factor in teh Bay Area music game. And though his lyrics may not have won him much of a following, he has a real knack for business that keeps him relevant. In 2002 JT discovered a young a up and coming rapper named The Game at a Hip-Hop summit hosted by Russell Simmons and signed him to his label Get Low Recordz for a short time. He has also teamed up with Snoop Dogg to put out a magazine called Mandatory Business to help artists get more exposure.
These days artists can't just make music, they have to be business savvy hustlers, and JT has done that for himself and a host of other Frisco emcees for years. So take a listen to him and Gucci and respect a factor when you see one.
