G-Eazy might be the biggest up and coming rapper out of the Bay that you've never heard of. This last week he was the opening act for three of Lil Wayne's shows on his current tour. If that does not give him some automatic respect, then I don't know what will. G-Eazy, a Berkeley High graduate and Oakland native, is able to make dope face-contorting hip-hop and poppy slaps that get you moving in the club.
I have even more respect for G because not only does he promote his music hard, but he also is a full time college student at Loyola University in New Orleans. That is where he teamed up with DJ Coolhand, an up and coming DJ from Oakland (Oakland Tech stand up!). Both G-Eazy and Coolhand, not to be confused with our own Coolhand Luke, are building a buzz down south, but aren't getting nearly enough love from the West Coast. And so, here we are.
Check out a couple songs below to get a taste of what G-Eazy is all about and check out DJ Coolhand's chronicles of the tour on his Youtube channel. Also, be sure to follow them on Twitter @G_Eazy and @DJCoolhand.
DL: "SB Dunks"- G-Eazy Ft. Hugh Augustine the MC
SB Dunks is sure to have you rockin in the club, with your favorite Nike Tennis Shoe of course.
DL: "Shh"- G-Eazy Ft. OSYM
"Shh" features a simple beat G can spit his wit on, but it also carries a little whip appeal.
