Raphael Saadiq Covers Sly Stone in Sweden

Raphael Saadiq and Sly Stone are two of my favorite Bay Area native sons, and it just so happens that they're energies converged on stage in Mejeriet Lund, Sweden last week. Ray Ray & Co. performed a cover of "Underdog," a fairly obscure and underrated song by Sly & The Family Stone. The song seems to encapsulate Oakland's status as an underdog city, and though the chord progression is simple, the track rocks when it finally lets its hair down. Don't sleep on it.
