First off, if you aren't up on The Attik then you need to do a bit of googling my friend. The Attik are underground Oakland giants amongst the back pack crowd, and put on one of the best live shows in the Bay. They also released a promising debut album last year entitled Jungle Electric.
Out of the rumbling bass and manic delivery that characterize The Attik sound, comes Do D.A.T. His recent EP, The Skinny, diverges from the group's sonic norm, opting for a freer sound that allows him to spread his wings lyrically. His flow is noticably more layed back and nuanced as he crafts his rhymes over soulful production from the likes of Will Bracy, Matt Price, Malicious Lee and DJ Phatrick. The Skinny EP is definitely a must buy. Here is a complimentary taste test from the man himself. EP available on iTunes. Enjoi
