Kev Choice is one of Oakland's most talented exports in a while. The pianist, producer, band leader and emcee has made quality music for many years now, all the while repping his city in a holistic manner that trumpets the positive over the negative. Since many of your local turf rappers were BGs on the corner, Kev Choice has been rocking the stage with the likes of Dwele, Martin Luther, Too $hort, Goapele, Lauryn Hill, Zion I and DJ Quick. These days he's back and forth between the Bay and the A spreading his music and his wings.
On "I Don't Walk, I Fly," he professes his love for his hometown and his dedication to the grind– an intangible quality that seems to grow organic here. This song was originally recorded as part of his Daily Dosage series, in which he recorded and released 60 songs in 60 days. Respect his gangsta.
