R&Bay is a broad genre painted with subtle strokes. Some opt for the syrupy pop route, others take to heartbroken balladry, but Moe Soul seems to mature the genre a bit. When you listen to Moe's "For You" you feel like you're listening to sugar mama music–like she is a grown woman who knows what she wants and what she has to give. But whether she's sweetly catering to you or getting down to something a little more club-ready and funky, she works the room like she runs shit.
The Bay Area diva has a following, but she has also been seen around town singing back-up for Mr. Dahrio Wonder. Tonight, Moe is taking to the stage of The New Parish as the headliner for this week's edition of Monday Soul hosted by Jareem, JE, DNas and DJ D-Sharp.
Don't sleep on Ms. Soul. Her sound is smooth, but versatile, showcasing her myriad of musical inspirations. I'd post more of her music to show you just what you're in for, but instead allow this to whet your appetite, and come out to the New Parish tonight.
