Mixtape: Droop-E: BLVCK DIAMOND LIFE

We have written much in anticipation of Droop-E's BLVCK Diamond Life mixtape and now that it's here, we have had it on repeat nonstop. As you might expect from a project boasting strictly Sade samples, it's smooth. And we're not talking light beer smooth, we're talking silk and cigar smoke smooth. It's the music of midnight migrations through the city in luxury automobiles or down the coast in private planes. Get the picture?

With this tone, it may be hard to imagine how hip-hop fits into the equation, but Droop-E knows how to compliment her vocal hues and utilize her melancholy melodies without boom-bapping it out. He lets her steer the ship and gets in where he fits in. He doesn't just flip vocal samples, nor does he opt for cliché "Smooth Operator" snippets. Instead he crafts an eight track opus that is hip-hop only where it makes sense

He may be an up-and-coming emcee, but he doesn't beat us over the head with verses either. Instead he lets his musical direction and production value speak for itself. If you are interested in listening to something real smooth that shatters your dated stereotypes of Earl Jr., download BLVCK Diamond Life. And if you wanna vibe out with your seat back and your tray table up, pop it in your walkman and press play.
