Thursday Throwback: MC Hammer (Then and Now)

Rick Ross' "MC Hammer" happens to be a favorite of the 38th Notes crew right now.  Growing up I (Renaissance, just to clarify) had the doll and watched the movie every day after school to learn the dance moves.  I was sure that I'd get rich by becoming one of his backup dancers.  So when I heard Rawse spit:

"I got 30 cars whole lot of dancers/
I take em' everywhere, I'm M.C. Hammer," I flipped.

The Ross/ Hammer connection may not make sense at first, but think of the money and influence Stanely Burrell had when he was at the top of his game. Hammer is probably the only non-gangster I've heard Ross compare himself to, but I'm glad he decided on the analogy. However, I will note it's kinda odd that Hammer's movie was about him standing against the drug dealers and the damage they were doing to the community...

In any case, Happy Thursday, it's officially Hammer Time.

DL: Rick Ross (Explicit): "MC Hammer"
