Above: President-Elect Barack Obama and Future First-Lady Michelle Obama appear in their first interview since November 4th's epic victory. They speak on how their their past, the future, and what how they have adapted to the pressures of life in the public eye. The main thing that I came away from this with is a sense of warmth. So much of the campaign process is so scripted and rigid, and to see them relax and speak freely was so gratifying. They are genuine, a cute couple and grounded individuals. I don't know how you can watch this and not feel all the ridiculous rumors fall to ash. I am optimistic.
Below: The Onion commentators speak on America's economic plan of throwing our money in a huge hole in the desert. In my estimation it is a hilarious metaphor for the war in Iraq. Also, is it just me, or does the woman on the left (and pictured in the freeze frame) look like the Daily Show's Senior Black Correspondent Larry Wilmore in drag?
