Shy B's "The Run" Trilogy starts with "Desire." A reflective track that shows the ESO to Berkeley MC in rehab. In part two of the series we find him partying, arguing with his girl, and drinking Jack out the bottle with "Take it Faster" as his soundtrack. The songs are different. The videos are different. Even Shy's style is different. He closes out the trilogy with "F*ck the Truth." Ever had an artist say "I don't have a set sound" only to have every track sound the same? Well, he's not that dude. Just peep "Head In The Clouds."
Check the video and let us know which is your favorite? Do you prefer artists who switch up their style? Is diversity of sound more important than consistency? Is this a good way to tap into different audiences? If and artist has multiple influences, should they be free to express all of them or is it bad for marketing?

Shy is an amazingly talented young artist.
Music may *have* an industry, but music itself is so much more than an industry. Versatility in style is part of what makes true artist...I give immense credit to ShyB for not stifling his own creative process in order for marketing purposes. Plus (perhaps a bad analogy for a hip hop blog!), an example: Christina Aguilera's best album to date was Stripped, where she really did attempt to cover several different "sounds" and still successfully make them her own...20 tracks and all different. I'd prefer to here variety than the same thing in 20 different tracks on an album any day of the week.
ShiB is an extremely talented versatile artist. I have been following him for years and he is capable of writing and performing in multiple styles. One of my long time favorites is Dirty Love...check it out on his site. His new trilogy carries a social message, as well as being just good music. Keep them coming Shi..I think music is all about freedom of expression...
I like the sounds, i like the messages. why stifle talent or artistic expresion? Shy B. has so much to offer--why restrain his music to one sound? It would be a shame to hold back his diversity and talent.
Shy B is a breath of fresh air for the hip hop scene. Everything that's out right now is so played out and his music has new sound and feel that I really enjoy. Good luck to the new mystery man in hip hop
Most of my favourite artists range in different genre's of music From Prince to Outcast to Ben E King From soul to Rock dance, hip hop etc, out of all the artists i have ever listened to Shy B seems to relate the most, i like the way you give yourself to your music i can really see the dedication, bro i have had fucking dreams about you thats how much i think of your music in my head, your keeping it real and simple g yet presenting complex real life issues and feelings accross to your audience, i hope you dont fuck it up when you make it big bro because brothers like me have been waiting years for some real shit like this.
