The Cataracs are back with another solid pop record that will slide down America's throat like raw oysters on the half shell. Perhaps that simile is a tad too refined for the world of syrupy pop music, but then again, The Cata crew is well on their way to luxury. Cyrano and Campa have been making a helluva run with solid writing and production work on the Fly East Movement's "Fly Like a G6," Dev's "Bass Down Low," and Snoop's "Wet," but this is their first mainstream foray into performance. Don't get it twisted, the Berkeley duo has been rocking stages since high school, but now they have the whole nation's ear.
38thnotes has been predicting a Cataracs takeover for a couple years now, and now that movement is entering a whole new chapter. Don't be surprised to see these cats winning Grammys real soon. Check out their scandalous new video for "Top of The World," directed by Ethan Lader. You can also download their amped up club record on the August 2010 edition of The Bay Abridged mixtape.
