Pomplamoose is dope, if you hadn't already concluded that from our previous coverage. Their approach to music is to craft a multimedia experience of split-screen video songs featuring live instrumentation of each and every sonic layer. The Bay Area duo may be foreign to some of 38thNotes's readership, but they have a following much larger than most Bay Area artists of any genre (How many of you have over 5 million views on one video? Didn't think so! lol). Their folksy soul, original compositions and fun covers are captivating and unique and have won them a growing cult following. Perhaps it's their sense of humor, Jack's honky-tonk antics or Nataly's ethereal voice, but somehow Pomplamoose is a winning combination.
We've featured the couple in the past, but here is their latest effort–an original composition co-produced by Allee Willis, the writer of Earth Wind and Fire's famed song "September." This song delves into the savagery of our dog-eat-dog world... albeit with an angelic voice and cute animations. If you are a fan, Pomplamoose will be opening for the Dresden Dolls on New Years Eve at The Warfield. Enjoi
