Video: Catching Up With Bobby Brackins

There are many who dismiss Bobby Brackins as an annoying, Hollywood, one-hit wonder, but like it or not, Brackins is one of the more relevant Bay Area rappers out right now. He's not a lyricist, but in the mold of The Cataracs, he makes catchy pop records in a country obsessed with radio ready pop anthems. "143" is the record that not only revived the usage of old school pager code, but also sprung him from GO DAV obscurity to national airwaves. But instead of immediately fading into obscurity, the Oakland native has followed that success with a couple more catchy numbers that deserve their shine. Check out his live acoustic version of “I’m Ready” with Marc Griffin of 2am Club above, and his collaboration with Ya Boy and Paul Wall entitled “High Profile” below.
