If you've been frequenting Monday Soul at The New Parish, you've seen Tony Vic trying to get the fly young ladies there "in the mood." I can't speak to whether or not he's been successful in that endeavor, but the Oakland emcee is definitely making an impression. With his debut release, The Vic(s)tor(y) Album: Testimonial Music, he is attempting to capture the attention of the masses, with a diversity of content and sound more based in real life experiences than fantastical imagery.
Though his sound is relatable, Vic also strives to set himself apart and make some more intimate connections. With "Get You In The Mood," the Oakland native enlists the assistance of local phenom R.O.D. to woo a young tender or two into his clutches. I believe "Get You In The Mood" is off Vic's project "The Collection (Of A Sophisticated Gentleman), and it should keep you two-steppin deep into the night.
