Ticket Give Away: Freeway, Freddie Gibbs, Jake One & DaVinci

If you're a hip-hop head, chances are you are a fan of at least one of the emcees on this bill. And lucky for you, we here at 38thNotes have some a couple pairs of free tickets to give away.

Former Roc Boy, Freeway might be the most recognizeable name on the line-up, but the Northwest's white van musician Jake One, XXL Freshman of the year Freddie Gibbs and the Bay's own DaVinci, Jern Eye, J-Billion and Street Media together comprise a show you won't want to miss.

I am personally juiced to see what blog darling and purveyor of all things gangster, Freddie Gibbs is all about. The Geary, Indiana native has often been likened to Slauson savage Nipsey Hu$$le, and if this comparison is apt, I'll be sure to love dude.

I may be most excited, however, to see the stage show of San Francisco's J. DaVinci. The Day The Turf Stood Still was, in my humble opinion, an extension of the foundation Fashawn recently built with his Boy Meets World debut, and his forthcoming Idle Mind LP promises more of the same. Fillmore may not be the black arts mecca it once was, but it has at least one remaining hopeful to call it's own.

To find out more about DaVinci, check out 38thNote's review of The Day The Turf Stood Still and download the album there too. For further information, check out DaVinci speaking on his Idle Mind project and watch his  Under The Bay interview with The Thizzler (all below).

Most importantly, the first two new followers of @38thNotes on Twitter will win a pair of tickets to Friday night's Top Billin SF show at Mezzanine. Ready. Set. Go!

And of course a little background music while you get your follow on.
