Video: Rafael Casal: "Holdin' Me Back" Live

Rafael Casal is finding a groove with his combined approach of tenor harmonies and cutting lyricism. The poet/performer/writer/blogger/ web designer/ educator jack-of-all-trades released a live studio recording of "On Tour" a month or so back, and now he's hitting us again with a live rendition of "Holdin' Me Back."

Rafa is known in some circles for his long and successful spoken word career, and is respected in others for his dope rap catalog. Still others of you are hip to him via his "Bay Area Slang" video. But whatever turned you on to dude, you've all stayed plugged in for one reason–dude has skills. So take a gander at his latest release and pay your respects!

And yes I know this is my second Berkeley post in a row, but shut up because another one is on its heels. lol. B-Town stand up!

And just because I love yall so much, here is a downloadable mp3 too.

Rafael Casal is an amazing poet, but he is by far my favorite rapper. No single word/lyric is unneeded, every song has a concept/story...just true art. The first 3 albums all get repeat play each week.
