Yes, February was indeed Black history month, and it is now March, but who are we to quarantine important racial commentary? Is it less relevant because it's now one day after a governmentally selected period of appreciation? I think not, so fuggit.
Enter Oakland's DLabrie (left), M1 of Dead Prez, The Jacka, Adisa Banjoko, Shamako and SaikoDelic for some present reflections on the Black experience. It is both a localized and worldly take on the history and future of the black struggle, focusing both on the social ills that have long burdened African-Americans, and the necessity of overcoming them.
When everyone and their mother is more concerned with their level of flyness than their degree of freedom, we need to stop and reacess our priorities. So daps to DLabrie for putting together this collaboration.
