New Music: Too $hort: "Still Blowin"

It's not even appropriate to say Too $hort is back again, because he never really left. When everyone from Jay-Z to Game has retired, or threatened to do so, $horty the Pimp has been here. "Still Blowin" is the first single off Ty Shaw's 18th full length studio album of the same name. There are other relevant rappers who's age is approaching $hort's 43 years, but 18 albums and 11 million units sold is pretty unprecedented, especially coming from a small market like the Bay Area.

"Still Blowin" is pure symphonic slap, and though he makes sure to discuss the slutty tendencies of his harem, this song is chiefly about chiefin. When he raps "I only shop at the weed store / Smoked it all up, now I need some more," you are reminded how much smoking weed has changed over the years. We've evolved from a bammer/bomb dichotomy to legal cannibus club's with a variety of exotic strains for sale. Given $hort's age, I think the OG Kush he mentions at the end of the song, is indeed the best choice. Puff, puff, slap kids.

And since I forgot to post 40 and $horty's latest collab off Uncle Earl's forthcoming Revenue Retrievin', here you are. Gotta love the longevity.
