Event: Oakland Tech Drama: Hamlet set in Oakland

For the next 3 nights (Jan 14-16), the Oakland Tech Drama Department will be showcasing their newest play Hamlet: Blood In The Brain. The play written by Oakland playwright Naomi Iizuka, is a modern re-do of the famous Shakespeare play Hamlet. This version is set in Oakland during the crack epidemic, some of the worst years The Town has ever seen.

The show is a warm-up for them before they take it on a Bay Area tour in the spring and then to Edinburgh, Scotland this summer for the world's largest theater festival. The drama department at Tech has been on the rise for the last 3 years, and the Scotland trip is the culmination of a lot of hard work by many different students.

Check out the complete Poster below for all the details, and lets get out and support our schools and local theatre. This event will also be a chance for you to donate to their big summer trip to Scotland, which is only 50% funded so far. Hope to see you there.
