New Music and Album Info from E-40

Apparently 40's release date for Revenue Retrievin' has been reset for March, so be on the look out for it then. I got hella love for Unc, but am also a bit irked that he has opted to go the double album route. Too many rappers decide that they have so much quality material that they have to drop two discs, but when was the last time that approach worked? Jay's Blueprint 2 flopped, no one budged when Nas dropped Street's Disciple, and lets not get started on Nelly's Sweat/Suit fiasco. It's not that there wasn't good music on these releases, there was (Sweat/Suit excluded). The problem was that there was way too much filler. Make one solid album and leak a bunch of left over shit for free. That's how the industry works now OGs.

An example of the type of record you should definitely leak (or never make at all), is this average record with Lloyd called "Track Shoes." You would think that a Bay Area affiliated song called "Track Shoes" would be about scalawags in ripper slippers or bob flops, but it's not. Nope, in this case, 40 and Lloyd are talking about wearing running shoes to symbolize their pursuit of sexy women. The image of 40 Water running of course gave me the chuckles.

However, the picture below single-handedly has me juiced for Revenue Retievin'– double album or not. Yup that would be 40, Droop-E and former Tower of Power lead singer Lenny Williams in the studio together. I love ToP, so I'm extremely eager to see what these two Bay legends will cook up together.
