Jazz Legend Wynton Marsalis Makes a Surprise Cameo with the Vacaville High Jazz Ensemble

Vacaville isn't exactly the Bay Area, but this shit is so dope. The Oakland Tribune reports:

During the busy Vacaville Jazz Festival on Saturday afternoon, Wynton Marsalis, trumpet in hand, walked up and quietly started playing with the Vaca High Jazz Ensemble.

After a couple of tunes, band director Andy Herout introduced the guest: acclaimed trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, leader of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and generally considered to be the premier jazz musician in the United States.
"He just walked up quietly and started playing," Herout said. "At first I wasn't sure if it was him. It took us by surprise."
Marsalis, winner of nine Grammys for jazz and classical music and a recipient of the Pulitzer Prize as a composer, was driving through town on Interstate 80, on his way to the Monterey Jazz Festival, and noticed the festival banner, Herout said

"The whole thing was very humble," he said. "He (Marsalis) walked up and started playing third trumpet. It wasn't until he took a solo that a lot of people realized it actually was him." FULL STORY HERE
