As 38thnotes has reported, Oakland Tech’s baseball team just got a new diamond thanks to the efforts of parents, players and community members, but the name of the field is still in limbo. At present most people refer to it as the Field of Dreams, which is catchy, but will not stand as a permanent name.
Because Oakland Tech's Rickey Henderson was recently voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, many have supported naming the field after him. The problem is that there is a field in East Oakland that already bears his name. Does that matter? Please let us know what you think the field should be named in the comment section.

First off, I don't see why we wouldn't name Tech's field after Rickey. I hate the fact that they named another field after him, but we should truly honor a tech legend. Second of all, I am mad that ESPN used mostly Yankee highlights in their piece. It doesn't an accurate picture of Ricky's career. But as long as he goes in with an A's hat ill be a happy man.
I concur. I'm sure it wouldn't bruise Rickey's ego any to have a second field named after him anyway.
The number of Yankees highlights was frustrating but he did serve two tours of duty in the Bronx. And if he doesn't go in as an A, there will be some hell to pay. Rickey is an Oakland boy, end of story
