Vote for Hope- Obama '08 by MC Yogi

Props to DRFactor for the heads up. This is a koo song by MC Yogi featuring Barack samples and a super dope video. Editing and animation courtesy of Ursa Minor Arts & Media in San Rafael, CA. Definitely worth a view.

It is great to see influential (or potentially influential) people actively campaigning for Obama. It shows a great commitment to the cause. It is helping spread the image of democracy and knowledge. Just the fact that the Obama campaign has sparked so much interest and passion in America's citizens is incredibly impressive and noteworthy. Props.

Mos definitely. My only worry is that there will be all this build-up to vote, and then everyone will go back to their old bullshit. If McCain were to somehow win, a whole lot of people who got excited for this would fall into extreme apathy rather than keep fighting. But even if Obama wins, I worry that folks won't continue their level of engagement. It will be easy to say okay, well we did our job, now this savior can do the rest. But that's not how this is going to work. I think Obama's greatest asset is his ability to inspire actions in others. That doesn't just mean voting, that means continuous active engagement on all levels of public life. We have to be reinvigorated not just for one day, but for our whole lives. We look like shit internationally, and we are in tatters domestically. This isn't time for temporary conviction, this is time for long-term commitment.
