Debbie Does My Dad (In a Kilt). Bay Area Playwright Performs in Scotland

Debbie Does My Dad is the coming of age story of a kid whose dad spent the 70s and 80s cumming on camera. Bay Area playwright Bobby Gordon tells the story of growing up with former porn star Richard Pacheco as a father, struggling through awkward sexual encounters, and ultimately striving to create his own new model of manhood where a man can be sensitive without being weak.

That kind of conscious man is a staple of the Bay Area, so it’s great to see the Berkeley native acting as an ambassador for than movement. And he's soon to be an international ambassador of the Bay Area as a whole. Debbie Does My Dad, which most recently did a two-show run in Los Angeles, is on its way to Scotland for a 21 show run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the LARGEST theater festival in the world.

But Gordon needs our help. He has a kickstarter fundraising campaign to pull off the production of the show with just a couple days left (it ends Thursday at 10 pm), and in order to pull off the show, he needs about another $550. Please help him out HERE!

I've seen the show myself (review here) and can attest that supporting Debbie Does My Dad is worth one night of eating at home instead of at the Smokehouse. But my favorite reason to help the show out is this; if you donate $25, you get a copy of a throwback mix called Bobby Gordon's Middle School Mixtape. It's got all the nostalgic tracks that will take you back to when you were awkwardly trying to hide your boner from the girl you were dancing with (so of course Next's “Too Close” is on there). If you donate the full $550 he might even excavate a discman from a yard sale, so you can slap your new mix in style!

Yup! That's the young whippersnapper in Middle School. Support a good cause, and then get your pubescent karaoke on!

Good luck Bobby, and represent us well in Scotland!
