In the Bay Area, we endure an annual routine of fog and frustration through June and July. Waking to gray skies in the middle of summer has a way of leaving us a bit bitter, but eventually we resign to the blahness–After all, Mark Twain once wrote that the coldest winter he ever spent was a summer in San Francisco. Then all of the sudden after we've begrudgingly used up all of our vacation days, September unleashes 90+ degree heat and beautiful days. This phenomenon is known as an Indian summer.
Here, Oakland indie-rock/funk outfit Wallpaper pay tribute to the beautiful autumn weather with a feel good anthem perfect for sun roofs and cold brews. London and Tivon first put me up on Wallpaper a number of months ago, and after seeing them rip The Independent and slapping their album Doo Doo Face religiously, they had a fan in me. Check out their video for "I Got Soul (I'm So Wasted)" below after vibing to their soundtrack for late summer's fond farewell.
