The Swapmeet Ensemble doesn't have a consistant sound that epitomizes them, but that's all part of their appeal. By their own admission they are a hodge podge of sounds and styles, and luckily for them, they make it work.
Silence DemALL and Poach Stevens are The Swapmeet Ensemble, and here they team up with Mr. Town and I.V.A.N. in what operates as both a rallying cry and a warning. Oakland is not the hell hole some try to paint it, but it is a place worthy of wariness. As IVAN notes, "Know your intentions when you approachin/ Cuz everybody fonkin, but n***a that's Oakland."
