Summer festivals are an integral part of city life. And in the beautiful Bay Area it's a sin to be without outdoor music, food and community building. Though I was young, being at The Festival at the Lake and walking amongst the crowds in my red plastic fire helmet remains one of my fondest memories. As such, I take every opportunity to make it to similar events. I'm a little disappointed at the Art and Soul line-up, but I will be out in full-force at Lake Fest and the Best of the East Bay show the weekend after.
