Giants' Jonathan Sanchez Throws a No-Hitter

I’m not a Giant fan by any stretch of the imagination, BUT I have to acknowledge greatness when it happens. Book ended by Cy Young award winners Barry Zito and Randy Johnson and 2009 All-Stars Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain, Jonathan Sanchez is widely known as the Achilles heel of the Giant rotation. He was just coming off bullpen duty (thanks to his sorry play) and was pitching in the first game his father had ever seen him start. And what does the hapless 26 year-old do? He throws the first Giants' no-no in 33 years. In fact had it not been for an 8th inning error he would have pitched a perfect game. How’s that for an underdog story? Read full story HERE.

I shall now resume waiting for the A’s to do something noteworthy.
